Wanda Conn

Wanda Nell Conn aka "Mammie", 82 left this world peaceful with her family being beside her on July 4, 2023. She is now with the Love of her life for almost 42 years and other family members waiting for her. Though she left us behind too soon. We know this is a day she has been waiting on for 23 years, Happy would be an understatement.

Mammie was born December 27, 1940 in Midlothian, TX to parents O'Neal Lampier and Nellie Smith. Mammie was the oldest of 4 children. As a teenager, she fell in love with Bobby Joe Conn, that was the "True" love of her life in Ferris, TX. This love story soon took its journey to Madill, Oklahoma with a marriage license and a name change of Wanda Conn. Then a true love story began, one that nobody can put into words easily. As life began for these two, so did their family with addition of 4 boys over the next 13 years. This family of 6 did everything together from changing of truck tires, rolling newspaper or helping in the family fruit stand. Her CB handle soon became Papergirl then her password with various variations over the years due to her forgetting it and needing technical support from family members. But as time flies, the boys grew up married and added more to this family of 6. The Love story had a few different stops they called home until they found their forever home on the open water at Cedar Creek Lake in the early 1990's where they were to spend the rest of their life enjoying the beautiful sunsets. This home was built with love by all the family members that did include laughs, blood, tears, sweat, and even hospital trips but all worth it in the end. Though we may not all think life is how it should turn out and fair. Mammie lived in this house that love built for 23 years until she took her final breathe.

Mammie is proceeded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Conn; Two Sons Robert Lynn Conn and Herbert Glenn Conn; parents O'Neal Lampier and Nellie Smith; sister Glenda Savell and 3 Great Grand children.

Mammie is survived by her sons Bobby Allen Conn and wife Cindy of Kemp; Mark Wayne Conn and wife Kristi of Kemp; 2 daughter in laws Sheila Conn of Kemp and Bev Conn of Mabank. Eleven grand children Kristina Malcolm, Rachel Thompson, Brandon Conn, Melani Parker, Cody Conn, Angie Holland, Lesley Chambers, Emiley Massey, Courtney Conn, Tiffany Craft, Shelby Little. Twenty-Five Great grand Children; one great great child and one on the way. Sister Carolyn Lampier Weaver and brother Jerry Lampier. With numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her... until we meet again, We love you Mammie!!!
