Treman Perkins

June 30, 1928 — October 28, 2025

Lem Treman Perkins, our sweet Daddy and PaPaw, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the age of 97. Treman was born on June 30, 1928, in Baxter, TX.

Our Dad and PaPaw was a quiet man, a strong worker, and he loved his family more than life itself. He was the most wonderful husband to our Mom for 77 years. He lost Mom just two months ago, and life without her left him heartbroken. He was ready to meet his Maker, and knowing he would be reunited with the love of his life, he was ready to go.

Treman went to work as a very young man to help his mom support his family. His father passed away when he was only 8 years old.

He was employed with Texas Power and Light Company on October 30, 1946, and retired on July 1, 1984, after working for 37 years and 9 months. He made many lifelong friends working as a lineman and trained many young men who came along behind him, including some who, in turn, trained two of his sons, both of whom also retired from Texas Power and Light Company/Oncor.

He met our Mom when she was a senior in high school. She saw him on a light pole working on her street and offered him a glass of water. He sat down and took a little break on her front porch, and the rest became the most beautiful love story of 77 years ever told.

Our Dad was the best of the best when it came to his beautiful garden, deer hunting, and fishing. It made him proud to see a huge bunch of hunters and fishermen growing up from his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and probably his two new great-great-grandsons, when they get older.

Life without our Daddy and PaPaw leaves a big hole in our hearts, but we were so blessed to have him for 97 years. It's not goodbye; it's "we will miss you so much," but we have the promise from God that we will be with you again in Heaven when it's our turn to go. You are well and happy now with Jesus and Mom. What a reunion it must have been.
