Suzanne "Sue" Kowalik Bickerstaff

February 26, 1923 — August 27, 2020

Suzanne Kowalik Bickerstaff left her earthly loved ones behind and joined her loved one who preceded her in death, one being her husband of over 40 years, Marvin Bickerstaff.

Born in Hobson, Texas to Mary and Ignatz Kowalik, she was one of nine children and part of the first Texas-Polish American Community.

Sue is survived by her daughter Melinda Ellzey and husband Bill. Her daughter Diane departed earlier in 1988.

Sue left her Christian legacy of four grand children: Donna Shay and Chris, Dena Busbey and husband Randy, Ty and Serge; six great grand children: Chase, Holli, Destiny, Deitra, Benjamin and Joshua. Her legacy continues on in her great-great grandchildren: Jacob, Jayden, Joshua, Jaxson, Fiona, Shaun, Kheydon and MacKenzie. She also left behind her very loved nieces and nephews.

Sue loved her church, First Baptist Church Tool, where she was an active charter member since 1964. She loved to garden, help the needy in the community and was always willing to fix food and sit with coffee for her friends and visitors. Sue loved to laugh and her "promotion" to Heaven came after a long and active life on Earth.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 11:00am to 12 noon, at the Huckabee Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Services will be officiated by Charles Tapley.

Services are under the direction of Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff.
