Stephen Spencer McClintock
June 27, 1950 – September 12, 2025
Stephen Spencer McClintock, 75, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Steve, also known by family as “Papo”, was born on June 27, 1950, in Sinton, Texas. At the age of 12, his family moved to Trinidad, Texas where he graduated high school. After graduation, he attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Entomology. He married the love of his life, Pamela Ardoin McClintock, on April 1, 1972. He joked that they got married on April Fool’s Day so they would never forget their anniversary. Together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage.
Steve dedicated over 40 years to the oil and gas industry, retiring from City Pipe and Supply in 2015. Throughout his career, he formed countless friendships that he cherished and stayed in touch with long after retirement. Outside of work, Steve found great joy in the outdoors. Whether it was hunting deer, rattlesnakes, searching for arrowheads, or racing pigeons, he cherished time spent in nature and passed that love along to his boys. In 2018, Steve checked off one of the biggest items on his bucket list when he and his two sons, Jeff and Eric, took a memorable trip to the Grand Canyon—riding to the bottom and camping overnight. It was an incredible experience they would never forget.
Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Pamela, his sons Jeffrey McClintock and wife Jennifer of Trinidad, Eric McClintock and wife Kimberly of Brock, grandchildren Corbin McClintock, Tucker McClintock and Cody Davies, Mystic McClintock and Garrett Harper, Walker McClintock, Destiny Woodall, Josiah Michael, Alishia Michael, Cale McClintock, Waylon McClintock and Carsyn McClintock, great-grandchildren Zachary Harris, Piper Davies and Broxten Harper.
He is also survived by his mother, Beatrice Spencer McClintock of Athens, brother Wyle McClintock and wife Tammy of Malakoff, and sister Janet Skelton and husband Hank of Athens, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glover McClintock. We’ll stop the list there because Steve traced his family’s genealogy all the way back to the days of Christopher Columbus!
Services to honor and celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Trinidad Methodist Church in Trinidad, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Careity Foundation which supports The Center for Blood and Cancer Disorders in Weatherford, Texas.
