Sharon Beard

December 13, 1946 — April 15, 2025

Sharon Genivie Perkins Beard was called home to our Lord on April 15, 2025 in Henderson, Texas.

Sharon was the eldest of four children born to Travis Lee and Cheno (Knox) Perkins. She grew up in East Texas with many cousins who were more like siblings. The family eventually moved to South Texas and she graduated from Lyford High School in 1965. Throughout her adult life, she worked in a variety of settings - ranching, railroad, secretarial, and home appraisal.

Sharon was known for her bright smile, benevolence, and big personality packaged in a petite frame. She loved numerous outdoor activities, including fishing and long walks. She was also known for her strong Christian faith, which was evident not only by her actions, but also by her well-worn Bibles filled with colored tabs and notes scrawled in the margins. Sharon was generous to a fault and frequently gave more of herself than she had to spare.

Sharon is survived by her husband, William Lee Beard, daughters: Sonja "Sunny" Brune and husband, Will; Nichole Sheree Brune; stepsons: James Beard and wife, Heather; Michael Beard and wife, Yvonne; grandchildren: Sean Brune-Herrera and partner, Courtnie; Hunter Brune-Herrera and wife, Sophia; Skyler Brune and wife, Stormi; Cassidy Brune; step-grandchildren: Breyden Beard; Blythe Beard; Brennyn Beard; and James Robert Beard; and great-grandchildren: Lynnleigh Ellis; Ivy Brune; Sawyer Shelton Brune; sister: Deborah Perkins; brother: Travis Perkins and wife, Sue; brother-in-law: Jay Wells; niece: Sabrina MacManus; nephews: Clinton Williams and wife, Sheri; Bretton and wife, Kristine; Bart MacManus, Travis MacManus; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Brenda Wells, daughter Shannon Leigh Brune, son Sean Arlen Brune, and nephew Travis L. Perkins.

Visitation, for Sharon, is 11:00 AM Saturday April 26, 2025, at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, 403 E. Royall Blvd., Malakoff, TX. Service will follow at 12:00 PM; Bro. Joel Knox will officiate. Interment will be at Davis Cemetery in the Baxter Community.

Pallbearers will be Clinton Williams, Bart MacManus, Sean Brune-Herrera, Hunter Brune-Herrera, Skyler Brune, and Garrison Williams.
