d. August 12, 2017

We celebrate the life of Sandra Lee Nearhoof. She was born into the devout Lutheran home of Houston Willard Nearhoof and Ruth Louise Thomas - Nearhoof in Youngstown, Ohio in the year of our Lord, 1943. Her parents met and married before her father received orders to go to Germany. He was serving in World War 2 when she was born, and he would not actually meet his daughter until after her second birthday. Her father nick-named his daughter "Butch" because she was so petite and feminine, but she had to be so brave while her father was at war. Sandra was a very gifted and intelligent woman.  She earned her license to be a cosmetician at age 16 and began working before she finished high school with honors at Liberty High School in Liberty, Ohio. She was a veteran of the Korean War working in Army Intelligence. In 1964, during her time in service, she met and married the father of her children, Army Special forces Paratrooper, Walter Hutchins Jr.
She is survived by her beloved mother Ruth Louise Nearhoof age 98; beloved brother and friend Houston Willard Nearhoof Jr. age 64, three children  Walter Hutchins 3rd  age 53; her second born son, Keith Houston Hutchins aged 54; her third born, daughter, Ruth Henderson age 48, The children of Houston Willard Nearhoof Jr. : Her eldest nephew and niece - twins, Houston Willard Nearhoof the 3rd and Shamare' Nicole Nearhoof;  youngest niece, Austina Marie Nearhoof; and 9 great nieces and 6 great nephews.  The children of Walter Hutchins 3rd and Lori Parker: The eldest grandson, J.D. She was blessed to have friends that were as close as siblings and children: Her beloved cousin Georgene Hockey; her dear friends Ida Warren, Judy Holcutt, and Linda King; and her beloved Daughter in Law, Lori Lynette Parker- Mcguffin. Lori remained as a daughter to Sandra even after her divorce from Walter Hutchins the 3rd. Lori Parker McGuffin's current husband David Mcguffin was regarded as a son in law.
Sandra Lee Nearhoof - Hutchins converted to Catholicism in 1996. Tthese Bible verses were selected by Ezra Henderson for his beloved grandmother because God Honors His Word: Hebrews 9:10 God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his sake for serving the saints, as you still do.  Psalm 27:1-9   Those who trust in Him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with Him in love, because His grace and mercy are upon His holy ones, and He watches over his elect. Ezra and Ariel bring to remembrance their grandma's favorite verse, John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Sandra Lee Nearhoof- Hutchins will be cremated and her remains will be sent to her brother Houston Nearhoof in Pennsylvania to rest with her father in the family mausoleum in Courtland, Ohio. May she rest in peace.
Respectfully submitted by her daughter, Ruth, who loved her dearly.
