Ruby Davis

Ruby Knox Davis went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 17, 2025, after a life beautifully lived and faithfully devoted to God and her family.

Ruby was born in Athens, Texas on August 13,1945 to Conis and Eunice Knox.

She married Mark Davis on December 10, 1965, and spent nearly 60 years by his side. Together they built a marriage rooted in faith, laughter, and adventures. They shared a love that only deepened with time. She often said that outside of her walk with Jesus, her greatest joy was being a wife, a mother, and a grandmother.

God blessed her with two daughters and later a son-in-law, who became her son in every way. But the truest sparkle in her eye came from her five grandsons. Whether cheering them on, praying over them, or simply listening to their stories, she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them.

More than anything she owned or achieved, she loved people-and she loved them like Jesus. Her words were full of encouragement, her home was always open, and her prayers covered those she held dear. She lived her faith in quiet but powerful ways: with kindness, generosity, and a steady trust in God that never wavered.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 3 brothers-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law.

She is survived by: her husband, Mark; daughter and son-in-law, Audry and Warren Alexander; daughter, Jerri Davis: four grandsons and their wives, Brandon and Danielle, Brady and Ashley, Breck and Alyssa, and JB and Morgan; one great grandson, Colt; three sisters, Pam Knox, Cheno Murray, and Laura Black; the one she always considered a sister and brother in law, Cathy and Gene Bishop; a daughter she claimed as hers over 30 years ago and her husband, Michelle and Shane Wells; her best friend for over years, Paula Warren; sister-in-law; Roberta Davis; brother-in-law, Jim McEntire; and many nieces and nephews.

Her favorite hymn was "Because He Lives," and she carried its message in her heart: that no matter what tomorrow held, she could face it with courage because her Savior lives. Today, her family and friends take comfort knowing she is now rejoicing in heaven, fully at peace, and hearing the words she longed for all her life: "Well done, good and faithful servant." Though she will be deeply missed here, her legacy of love and faith will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched.

Family and friends will gather for visitation Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 6 - 8 PM at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home. Services for Ruby will take place Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10 AM at First Baptist Church Cross Roads with Bro. Jared Heimer officiating. Interment will follow at Post Oak Cemetery.
