Rodney was born in Dallas, TX to James Knighton and Wanda Knighton.
He was preceded in death by his father James Knighton; mother Wanda Knighton; nephew Robbie; grandparents Earnest and Ruth Roberts; grandmother Francis Faulk.
He is survived by his son Paul Michael Young; sister Regina Pettigrew; brother Richard Knighton; sister Renee Knighton; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services for Rodney will be held at a later date.
