Portia June Bennett

Portia Bennett, 79, was called to her heavenly home on March 18, 2026.
She was born on June 15, 1946, in Fresno, CA, to Calvin William and Velma Cordelia Johnson Benne.
She moved to Kemp in 1971. She worked at the water plant in Kemp where she was plant operator for 20 years. She was a member of Tolosa Baptist Church.
Portia is preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Cordelia Benne, husband Larry Don Bennett, sister Shirley Rodriguez.
She is survived by her son Gary Hudson and wife Cathey. Stepdaughters Belinda Bennett, Kelli Barnes, Margarette Rapp and husband David, grandchildren Raven New, Journey New, Payton New, Tyler Tawney, Kyra Tawney, Brandy Anderson, Kayla Anderson, Kristopher Rapp, Sara Rapp, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins including Rhonda Markham, Janice Collinsworth, Sharon Rankin, and Louis Wayne Rodriguez.
Visitation will be 1:30 PM Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Huckabee Memorial Chapel, Seven Points, TX. Graveside service will be at 3:00 PM at Baker Cemetery, Tolosa, TX.
