Portia June Bennett

Portia Bennett, 79, was called to her heavenly home on March 18, 2026.
She was born on June 15, 1946 in Fresno, CA, to Calvin William and Velma Cordelia Johnson Benne.
She moved to Kemp in 1971. She worked at at the water plant in Kemp where she was plant operator for 20 years. She was a member of Tolosa Baptist Church.
Portia is preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Cordelia Benne, husband Larry Don Bennett, sister Shirley Louie Rodriguez.
She is survived by her son Gary Hudson and wife Kathey. Step daughters Belinda Tauney and husband Shaun, Kelli Barns and husband Larry, Margarette Rapp and husband David, grandchildren Tyler Tauney, Brandy Anderson, Kayla Anderson, Kristopher Rapp, Sara Rapp, Mother-in-law Louise Bennett, Brother - in- law Doug Bennett and wife Anita, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 1:30 PM Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Huckabee Memrorial Chapel, Seven Points, TX. Graveside service will be at 3:00 PM at Baker Cemetery, Tolosa, TX.
