Mary Gladys Morris

Mary Gladys Morris, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on June 28, 1936, Mary dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating lasting memories. She was the loving wife of Thurman Morris for 58 wonderful years.

A devoted homemaker, Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly through her passion for bowling. Every Saturday, she could be found at the local bowling alley, coaching children and fostering a love for the sport. Her laughter and encouragement inspired many young bowlers, and her commitment to the sport extended to the ladies' and mixed bowling groups that she participated in with joy and camaraderie. If anyone ever wondered where to find Mary, they knew to check the bowling alley-she was always there, sharing her love for the game. An adventurous spirit, Mary loved traveling with her bowling friends and sharing the thrill of competition.
She and Thurman would often take part in flea markets, delighting in the shared experience and the treasures they would find and sell in their booths.

Among her many passions, Christmas held a special place in Mary's heart. She loved the festive season so dearly that she turned her home into a holiday haven, proudly displaying decorations that played cheerful music throughout the year.

Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband Thurman Morris, father Charles Sutton, mother Artie Mae Norris, stepdad Floyd Norris, daughter Debbi Badgett, and son in law Glenn Rich.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Rich, who carries on her spirit of kindness and love. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kevin Rich and wife Tammy, Doug Rich and wife Ashley, Dwayne Morris and wife Tiffany, Jacob Rascon, great grandchildren Kristi Davenport and husband Nathan, Dustin Rich and wife Nicole, Kandace Williams, Chayla Garrett, Cody Reville, Dakotah Reville, Kinslee Morris, Avery Morris, Amelia Rich, Cade Rich, and Audrey Rich. Her legacy continues to live on in her great-great grandchildren Cayden Rich, Dustin Davenport, Tanner Davenport, Kimbre Davenport, Karter Davenport, Carson Davenport, and lots of cousins, and in-laws.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5, at 2:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church, Tool, TX with Bro. Steve Palmer officiating. Interment in Tool Cemetery.
