A Celebration of Life for Margie LaVerne Perkins
February 11, 1931 - August 29, 2025
Margie Laverne Perkins, better known to all that loved her as MaMaw, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the age of 94. LaVerne was born on February 11, 1931, in Crossroads, TX. She was a member of Hilltop Worship Center, but as she would prefer, Assembly of God Church of Malakoff.
LaVerne was a stay-at-home mom, but she was anything but still. As her children will tell you, she always had three hot cooked meals on the table, she could sweep the finish off the floor and never was satisfied if there was a leaf left unraked in the yard. She was a faithful, Christian woman who loved her Savior Jesus Christ and shared him with her family, a loyal friend to so many and always very active in her church. She was the most loving and devoted wife to our Daddy and they just celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary on July 31, 2025. She will be missed by all of us. It’s not goodbye to our beautiful Mom and MaMaw, it's we will be looking forward to the day we see you again in Heaven. You are well and happy and probably cheering and sweeping those streets of gold now.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Walter Tapley Sr. & Mae Pearl Rogers Tapley, father & mother-in-law Lem Lafayette & Mary Essie Perkins, brother & sister-in-law James Walter Tapley Jr. and Muriel Tapley, brother Julius Ray Tapley, brother Clarence James Tapley, brother & sister-in-law Nick & Odie Vee Hickman, brother & sister-in-law Travis & Cheno Perkins, brother-in-law LeRoy Dubberly, brother-in-law John Jenkins, grandson Jeffery Lynn Perkins.
