Jonathan Michel, the beloved son, father, and brother was suddenly called to his eternal resting place on July 26, 2022. He entered this world on April 21, 1979 in Longview, TX, born to Wren and Karen Michel.
Jonathan was a member of the Nazarene Church, but he spent the last several months attending Caney Creek Baptist Church. Jonathan enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially deep-sea fishing. He was kind to everyone he came in contact with.
"I have fought the good fight..." describes Jonathan's life as a whole. Following his accident four years ago, Jonathan was left in a wheelchair and non-verbal. However, his miraculous story from that accident allowed him to touch thousands of lives around the world. Now, he has "...finished the race..." He's no longer in a wheelchair, and he is walking, talking, and fishing with the Saints of old, and the disciples with Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Tressie (Theresa) Taylor Ward; grandfather Jack Owens; grandmother Martha Wren Michel; grandfather Billy Michel.
He is survived by his parents, Wren and Karen Michel; children, Hunter Brice Michel, Chloe Elizabeth Michel, Isabell Lauren Michel; sister Kay Wren Michel-Phillips; nephews Liam Wren Michel, Bryson Thomas Kent-Michel; niece Kaylee Noel Michel, and numerous, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Caney Creek Baptist Church.
