Jewerl "JR" Watkins

Jewerl "JR" Watkins, 77, beloved husband, father, grandfather & brother, was called to his eternal resting place on June 6, 2024.

He entered this world on May 21, 1947 in Sherman, TX, born to Alfred and Willie (McCoy) Watkins.

Jewerl was a lifelong resident of the Malakoff area. He served his country, in the Army, and was injured while stationed in Vietnam. Jewerl was an avid fisherman. He belonged to area fishing clubs, was a guide and participated in local tournaments. He had a great heart for helping anyone in need.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Willie Watkins; brother Thomas Carol Watkins; and sister Luree Riley.

He is survived by his spouse Brenda Kay Watkins; children Heather Renee Watkins, Chad Wade Flores & wife Kristen, Jerry Watkins, Michael Watkins; grandchildren

Michael Watkins Jr., Makayla Watkins; brothers Robert Wayne Watkins and Alfred Timothy Watkins.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday June 15, 2024, at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, 403 E Royal Blvd., Malakoff, TX.
