Jesse Thomas "Tommy" Hayes

June 26, 1956 — July 28, 2025

Jesse Thomas "Tommy" Hayes Jr., 69, was welcomed into his eternal home with our Lord and Savior on July 28, 2025.

He was born on June 26, 1956, in Dallas, TX, to Jesse Thomas Sr. and Roma Jo Hayes. He married the love of his life, his best friend Diana Weaks 49 years ago. Together they endeavored many journeys and shared life like only true soulmates could. Tommy was an active member of the Malakoff Community for many years serving on multiple boards including the Malakoff City Council, Malakoff ISD school board, youth sports organizations, as well as many others. His greatest roles were those in which he served the Lord such as pastor of Hilltop Worship Center, Cayuga Assembly of God, Kerens Assembly of God, and Saginaw Assembly of God. He was the director of rural compassion for North Texas District Assemblies of God. During his time serving with Rural Compassion, he was able to connect with many churches to care for rural pastors and those living in rural communities. Tommy never met a stranger and throughout all his endeavors in life, he made an impact on all who knew him. He made sure everyone around him knew his love for Jesus Christ. The joy he found in Him was evident by his big smile and larger than life personality. He always had a good dad joke for any and everyone.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Jesse Sr. and Roma Jo Hayes, sisters Patricia Harris, Sandra Hayes, father-in-law Ray Weaks, brother-in-law Phillip Street, and brother-in-law Billy Harris.

He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Diana Hayes, son Jason Hayes and wife Heather, daughter Holly James, mother-in-law Betty Weaks, and sister-in-law Lisa Street. His wonderful legacy continues to live on through those who know him as PawPaw, Macie, Alex, Raeleigh, Ryker, Kylee, Ellee, Brooklee, Heartlee, Jack, Emoree, Indee, Eavee, and Natalie.

Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Tanner, Mike "Pack Rat" Monroe, Bubba Hayes, Parker Street, Robert Mills, and Karson Street. Honorary pallbearers are Ryker James, Jack Hayes, Alex Thlang, Terry James, Gary Reaves, Bob Brunner, Jim Martinez, Rick Pogue, Austin Pogue, Dennis Berry, Rodney Miller, Dane Goode, Chris Williams, Mike Harper and Roland Moore.
