Jerry Elmore, 85, was called to his eternal home on April 15, 2024.
He was born June 30, 1938 in Dallas, TX, to Jason and Edna (Tucker) Elmore.
Jerry worked for Federal Pacific for 28 years before retiring. He was a member of Legendary Baptist Church. As his four boys were growing up he enjoyed being a Little League Daddy. He was an avid collector of clocks and pocket knives. At one time he had over 150 clocks. He and his beautiful wife Rose enjoyed square dancing and traveling. They volunteered in the community and won a Presidential Service Award in 2010 for their service. He enjoyed fishing and always wanted to be the first one to catch a fish. He loved baseball and The Texas Rangers.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jason and Edna, wife Beverly Osteen Elmore, son Jerry Michael Elmore, brothers Bert Elmore, Luther Elmore, and sister Jane.
Jerry is survived by his wife of over 40 years Rose Elmore, sons Paul Douglas Elmore, Ronald Terry Elmore, Donald Perry Elmore, Anthony Wayne Holbert, siblings Bernice Campbell, Ollie Elmore, sisters-in-law Pat Hawkins, Sue Ensley, grandchildren Ian Gregory Holbert, Oliver Reed Holbert, Rebecca Elizabeth Elmore, Spencer Douglas Elmore, Scott Terry Elmore,Courtney Michelle Elmore, Michael Thomas Elmore, PJ Jones, foster daughter Sarah Myers, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Huckabee Memorial Chapel, Seven Points, TX. The service will follow at 1:00 PM with Jim Mansfield officiating.
Pallbearers are Charles Pickle, Mike Howell, Mike Smith, Paul Douglas Elmore, Anthony Wayne Holbert, Michael Thomas Elmore; and honorary pallbearer Bernice Campbell.
Interment will be in Eubanks Memorial Park, Mabank, TX.
