James "Doug" Wylie

November 15, 1929 — February 8, 2016

James (Doug) Wylie of Kemp passed away on February 8, 2016 at the age of 86. He was born in Wichita Falls, TX on November 15, 1929 to Emmett Creed and Gladys Hammock Wylie. He actively served in the US Army Reserves from 1951 to 1956. He and the family moved from DeSoto, Texas in 1970 and he later retired from the Cedar Creek Country Club. He is survived by daughter Becky and her husband Jerry Hughey, son Don and his wife Michele Wylie and daughter Cathi and her husband David Massey. Surviving grand children are: Jeff Wylie, Nathan Felts, Dustin Hughey and wife Dana, Amanda Kulsa and husband Philip, Candice Hughey and Shawn Morris. There are also 10 great grandchildren Mr. Wylie is preceded in death by his wife Donna Wylie, daughter Jeanne Wylie and by his parents Emmett Creed and Gladys Hammock Wylie. Memorial services will be held Thursday morning at the Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points with visitation beginning at 10am and services to follow at 11am.
