Gloria Valdez Rivera (Mima) was born on April 20th in Cuba in 1937 and rose to heaven on November 29th, 2017 and rose to heaven on November 28th, 2017 to be with her beloved husband Pedro Calisco Rivera (Chico) and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She leaves behind her loving family, her daughter Ana Canup, her son Pedro Rivera; sisters Eleida Tort (Lela) and Lilia Urquiaga; grandchildren Monica Michelle Infante, John Cody Infante, Angela Pennington, and Kenda Kennedy; and her three great granddaughters Alexia Alexander, Ella Kennedy and Harper Kennedy.
Gloria's gentle spirit will be sorely missed by her family, her neighbors and countless friends. To know her was to love her. Mima was truly happiest to sit outside in the country and drink in the miracle of God's creations: the flowers, animals, birds, the beauty of the sky and stars and the changing of the seasons. We are comforted to know she is finally at peace with Chicho and we are blessed to have been touched by her sweet soul.Â
Memorial services for Gloria will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 4:00pm at the Christian Life Center in Gun Barrel City.
