Gladys Weaver, 93, of Star Harbor, passed away March 9, 2026 with her family by her side.
She was born May 28, 1932 in Nederland, TX, to James and Willie Slaughter.
Gladys married the love of her life Herbert Reese (Bert) Weaver Jr. in 1956. They moved to the Star Harbor Community in 1993. The two celebrated 65 wonderful years together before Bert passed away in 2022.
Gladys received her degree in nursing and served as a Registered Nurse for many years.
She is preceded in death ber her husband and soul mate Bert, parents James and Willie Slaughter, sister and brother-in-law O.R. and Viola Perdue.
She is survived by her sons Bret (Melanie) Weaver, Brad (Terry) Weaver, grandchildren Bret Jr. (Kacey), Maggie (Nick), Brooks (Erika), Braden (Sarah) and Reese, and one great grandson Finn.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at visitation Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff, TX.
Service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Malakoff Methodist Church with Bro. Ed Fisher officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be her sons Bret Weaver, Brad Weaver, grandsons Bret Jr., Braden, Brooks, Braden, Reese, and nephew Buddy Perdue. Interment will be in Malakoff Cemetery.
