Gail Colvin Brown, 83 years of age, passed away peacefully Monday evening, February 27, 2023 at Texas Health Hospital in Rockwall.
Gail was born October 20, 1939 to Warren and Jodie Colvin in Aley, Texas. She was the second to youngest of twelve children who have all preceded her in death.
Gail married the late Cecil Brown in 1960 and two boys were born of this union, Jeff and Marty. She and Cecil worked and raised their two boys in Mesquite, Texas. After raising her two boys, Gail spent time with her grandson Jeromie and granddaughter Chelsie. Gail worked eighteen years at ATT then shortly after her retirement when her husband's health failed, she moved them "back to her roots" in Kemp, Texas. Here she lovingly and loyally cared for him until his death.
It is in Kemp that she spent the remainder of her life near family and friends. Gail quickly became reacquainted with old friends, in addition to making new ones. One could often find her out at local restaurants enjoying an evening meal with friends. Gail also loved sports of all types especially football and Nascar. She had an uncanny ability at picking winners, especially in college football.
Gail was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Brown, her parents Warren and Jodie Colvin, brothers and sisters Leslie Colvin, Ansel Colvin, Dwain Colvin, Harold Colvin, Richard Colvin, Freddie Colvin, Helen Powell, Doris McMillian, Billie Joe Thornton, Nelda Hendrix, and Rachel Voight.
Gail leaves to cherish her memory son Jeff Brown and wife Sharon, son Marty Brown and Debbie, grandson Jeromie Brown and wife Wendi, and granddaughter Chelsie Odle-Manley, her husband Justin and Gail's great-granddaughter Hadley.
In addition, she is lovingly remembered by her nephews and nieces of several generations along with other family and friends.
Visitation for Gail will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Chapel in Seven Points, Texas from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at King Cemetery.
