It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Freida Lynn Jones ("Nanma"). Freida Lynn Jones, 74 years old, passed away peacefully at Mabank Nursing Center in Mabank, Texas on August 21, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on January 12, 1951, to H.F. "Pug" Warren and Edna Lucille (Skiles) Warren in Corsicana, Texas.
Freida Lynn Jones lived a life filled with a servant's heart, unwavering faith, and a strong devotion to her family. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. When she was fourteen (14) years old, she married the love of her life, Mickey Don Jones. They married in April 1965 and together they shared 60 beautiful years of marriage - walking hand in hand through joys, trials and blessings, always keeping Christ at the center of their home. Their union was a testimony to God's love and faithfulness, and an example of devotion that touched all who knew them. Together they built a loving home filled with laughter, traditions, and cherished memories.
Freida Lynn Jones, a graduate from Trinidad High School, began her postal career on June 2, 1979. Her career began by passing the civil service test and she was employed by the Trinidad Post Office, working for only two hours each Saturday. In 1981, she decided to further her career and began taking college courses and postal training courses. In 1985, she transferred to the Kerens Post Office and began city delivery and eventually transferred to the Crandall Post Office. In May of 1992, God had bigger plans in store for her as she was selected as the Postmaster of Trinidad, Texas. There she served her community with her tireless work ethic and commitment to the community. Freida Lynn Jones was a familiar friendly face to all those who entered the post office. She took great pride in her work. Freida Lynn Jones served thirty (30) years with the United States Postal Department until her retirement on January 2, 2009.
Freida Lynn Jones was a lifelong and devoted follower of Christ. She lived her life as a faithful servant, consistently demonstrating God's love through her boundless acts of kindness. Her bible was a constant companion, and her prayers were a source of strength for everyone who knew her. To her children and grandchildren, she was the family's spiritual pillar, a source of wisdom and grace, and a constant example of what it means to walk with Jesus. Freida dedicated her time within the church serving in children and youth ministries - Vacation Bible School, teaching Sunday school classes, attending children and youth summer camps, leading Wednesday night youth groups, and organizing church plays. Her greatest desire was for all those whose lives she touched, to join her in heaven through salvation in Jesus Christ.
Growing up, Freida developed a talent and passion for sewing and cooking. Her hands were rarely still, a testament to a life spent creating and nurturing. She is remembered for her exquisite sewing and quilting. Freida created beautiful pieces that will forever serve as reminders of her love. In the kitchen, she could transform simple ingredients into memorable meals. She poured love into every dish, and her most prized desserts that she loved to make for her grandchildren - Buttermilk Pie, Pecan Pie, Chocolate Pie, and Cherry O'Cream Pie. Her kitchen table was the heart of the home, a place where everyone was welcome and no one left hungry. The smell of her cooking was a comfort to all who visited, and her recipes, passed down through generations, will be cherished forever.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with loved ones who preceded her in death, including her beloved parents, H.F. "Pug" Warren and Edna Lucile (Skiles) Warren; brother Glenn Warren; sister Patsy Gale Warren; and sister Monty Warren. We rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the knowledge that she is now in the arms of her Savior.
