He entered this world on December 29, 1938 in Dallas, TX, born to Fred and Rittie Lou (Bowman) Burks Sr.

He is preceded in death by parents Fred Burks Sr and Rittie Lou Bowman; and sister Juanita Henderson.

Fred is survived by JoAnn Davis, mother of Frederick L Burks, Derwood Glenn Burks & Patricia Burks; Janet Wilkins, mother of Corey Wilkins & Tammy Wilkins; Deloris, mother of Lisa Burks; Oranell Shofner, mother of Denise Shofner; daughter-in-law Ladell Marie Davis, mother of Telisa LaShan Burks, Valerie Davis & Barbara Lanell Davis; grandkids Princess Kemia Jordan, A.K.T. Jordan, Pooh Jordan, Herscel Armstrong, Trudy Armstrong, Gayla Armstrong, Dusty Armstrong; and nieces Carolyn & Cynthia.

Visitation will be at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, 403 E Royall Blvd., Malakoff, Texas,

Friday January 5, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at North Athens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Sherman, R.C., Dee, Johnathan Williams, Kemia Jordan and A.K.T. Jordan. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ed Fisher.
