Francis Jerome Thompson, 79, beloved husband, dad, and grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on July 20, 2021. He entered this world on July 26, 1941 in Dallas, TX, born to Kirby and Mary Thompson. He is a part of history at Samuel High School in Pleasant Grove, where he was a member of the first graduating class of the school.

By trade, Jerome laid carpet and tile for many years. His passion was being an artist. He loved painting and taught classes and authored a book about art. For enjoyment he loved to fish.

He is preceded in death by his parents Kirby and Mary Thompson, grandparents Frank Fred and Crissy Dodson, and brother Henry Wayne Thompson.

Jerome is survived by his soulmate and wife of 63 years Linda Marie Thompson; son Gerald Wayne Thompson & wife Tammy Renee; son Rodney Steven Thompson & wife Katherine Rose; daughter Karen Yvonne Brown & husband Billy; grandchildren Brittany Jean Thompson; Bradley Wayne Thompson & wife Osma; Russel Allan Tanner; Matthew Alexander Tanner; Johnna Denee Hill; Christopher Steven Thompson & wife Melissa; Michael Ashford; Candice Ashford; Christine Ashford; Kandice Yvonne Vanhorn & husband Justin; Kala Marie Hopkins & Eddy; Kristena Carol Mitchell. His wonderful legacy continues to live in his great-grandchildren Tanner, Jaden, Jaycee, Alyssa, Jordan, Jace, Jackson, Jesson, Ashton, Jacob, Arianna, Dakota, Alex, Emma Rose, Matthew, Bella, Emma, Zayden, Jaceston, Kyiaa, Torryn, & three great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church, Trinidad, TX.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis, TX. Bro. Billy Brown will officiate.
