Floyd DeWitt Loven

Floyd DeWitt Loven, 60, beloved son, dad, brother, and Pepaw passed from this earth to his eternal heavenly home on January 11, 2026.
DeWitt was born November 5, 1965 in Houston, TX to Rev. Floyd and Rosalie Loven. DeWitt graduated from Trinidad High School in 1984. He had a heart for serving others. He invested his life in that service as a peace officer, nurse, firefighter, and mentor to many. He has served on the Trinidad Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He has obtained multiple certifications which have allowed him to teach and mentor many young men and women in the field. He was a leader by example whose faith was evident on and off duty. DeWitt served with humility, courage, and trust in God. His impact will continue through the countless lives he shaped, the firefighters he guided and the brothers and sisters who will carry his lessons forward.
If you ever had the opportunity to call "Witt" friend, you knew you had a friend for life who was there for you in the good times, the bad times, and at all times. He was a true brother in Christ.
DeWitt is preceded in death by his mother Rosalie Wages Loven, and sister Denice Rose "Rosie" Loven.
He is survived by his father Rev. Floyd Loven and bonus mother Judi Loven, daughter Heather Beard and husband Danny, son Doug Loven and wife Caitlin, sister Juanice Langford and husband Jim, bonus sister Jamie Morrel and husband Pat, grandchildren Taylor Loven, Connor O'Brien, and baby Austin Ryan Loven on the way, niece Krista Crocker and husband Ray, nephew Wesley Burton and wife Emily, bonus niece Zoie Morrel, bonus nephews Jacob Morrel, Isaac Morrel, great nephew Kaleb Mines-Crocker, and great nieces Lillian Burton and Kate Burton.
Service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Faith Community Baptist Church, 6887 Hwy. 198, Payne Springs, TX. Interment will be in Trinidad Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Trinidad Volunteer Fire Department or a Volunteer Fire Department of your choice.
