Doyle Bedford Scott, 88 of Malakoff, TX went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 12, 2026. He was born December 17, 1937, in Corsicana Texas to Dee and Mamie Lou Scott. He married his sweetheart Annette Van Deman in 1964.
Doyle was a gifted musician who loved to play his guitar, fiddle, and harmonica. He served in the Texas National Guard from 1956 to 1965. He was employed with Goodyear for 30 years, where he retired in 1999. He was a Sunday School teacher for many years and was ordained to preach in 1972. He pastored Baxter Baptist Church in Baxter Tx, from 1980 - 1982.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Mamie Lou Scott and his wife of 52 years, Annette Van Deman Scott.
Survivors include daughter Jana and husband David Pugh of Malakoff, son Aaron and wife Angela Scott of Malakoff, four grandchildren Joshua Pugh, Kevin Pugh (Chris), Austin Scott (Madison), and Blake Scott (Ashley), and three great-grandchildren Landon, AnsLee and Norman.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Monday, February 16 from 6-8 PM at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff, TX. A funeral service will be at First Baptist Church in Malakoff on Tuesday, February 17 at 1 p.m. with Bro. Casey Perry officiating. Interment will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens, TX. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Pugh, Kevin Pugh, Austin Scott, Blake Scott, and Jose Lopez.
The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice and Cedar Lake Nursing Center for the wonderful care provided to our Daddy and Papaw.
