Annette Jackson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Annette Jackson, a beloved sister, god mother, dedicated educator, and cherished friend, who left us peacefully on June 20, 2026, at the age of 68. She was Born on May 26, 1958, in Athens, Texas, to Matthew Jackson Jr. and Violet Jackson. Annette spent her life in service to others, positively impacting countless students throughout her career of 45 years as a teacher at Malakoff Independent School District.

Annette embraced her community and shared her knowledge with enthusiasm and grace. Her commitment to education was unwavering, and she inspired many with her passion for teaching and her belief in the potential of every child. Annette held a Bachelor's Degree and dedicated herself to nurturing young minds, creating a legacy that will be cherished by her students and colleagues. She continued her love for teaching and serving others through her commitment to serving God at her church home Antioch Baptist Church.

She served her community through serving on the board of Steen Cemetery Association, Housing Authority Board, and the Superintendent Advisory Committee. During her pastime, Annette enjoyed shopping and reading.

Annette is preceded in death by her parents Matthew Jackson Jr. and Violet Jackson, brother, James Lester Jackson, grandparents, Raymond Grayer, Canaria Grayer, Matthew Jackson Sr. and Arlee Jackson.

Annette is survived by her devoted sister, Janet Jackson, who will carry forward the memories and love they shared. Together, they created a bond that reflected the strength and resilience of their family. She is also remembered by her godchildren Toni Johnson, Tasha Hightower, Ariel Driver, Tayler Grayer, and Asia Fulton.

In celebration of Annette's life, a public viewing will be held throughout the day at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home on June 26, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects during this time.

Service will take place at Antioch Baptist Church on June 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM, where we will gather to honor Annette's remarkable life and contributions to the community. Following the service, interment will be held at Steen Cemetery.

Annette Jackson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy as an educator and her love for her family and friends will forever remain in our hearts.
